Geo Ropert, APR is a nationally-accredited, award-winning public relations and marketing professional, with a diverse background of experience in both the public and private sectors. A Michigan native and longtime Florida resident, Geo has owned several businesses and held senior management and executive level positions in public relations, sales and marketing. From his first business at the age of 21, he has had the opportunity to learn from extraordinary corporate and community leaders. He utilizes the knowledge and skills he’s acquired to help businesses and organizations develop and execute exemplary communication plans that have launched unique brands, built and expanded client and stakeholder bases, and raised awareness and resources for important initiatives and causes.
Prior to founding R&P, Geo was vice president of a public relations firm in Melbourne, FL. During his tenure, he helped grow the firm’s clientele and annual revenue, lending his experience in business ownership and management to support a team of both veteran and early-career professionals.
For several years, Geo was the chief communications director for Brevard Family Partnership and responsible for all public relations and marketing functions, as well as the governmental affairs of the nonprofit agency which managed foster care, adoptions and family services, under a $110 million contract to the Florida Department of Children and Families. He led a major rebranding of the agency and helped launch two subsequent subsidiaries, which resulted in significant growth in community awareness and support for its programs.
As vice president of LEAD Brevard, Brevard County’s leadership development organization, Geo led the Brevard Tomorrow initiative, a community-wide public and private-sector partnership that developed and helped implement smart growth strategies for the rapidly growing east Central Florida region. He was also instrumental in the development of Young Professionals of Brevard, the first initiative of its kind in Brevard County to address the professional, social and community engagement needs of the area’s young, career-minded adults.
Engaged in governmental affairs for many years, Geo has been active in local, state and national advocacy for both businesses and communities. He has been a candidate for public office, developed and executed grass roots advocacy campaigns, and has established, respected relationships with legislators and policy experts. He currently serves as the chairman of the Government Affairs Committee and a member of the board of directors of the Cocoa Beach Regional Chamber of Commerce.
Geo has organized and moderated several multi-government workshops and summits, and managed large-scale conferences and events. He services are frequently requested as a keynote and guest speaker, as well as master of ceremonies for several high-profile events.
In 2007 Geo received his Accreditation in Public Relations (APR), joining an elite group of highly-skilled public relations professionals throughout the U.S. who are committed practitioners with exemplary ethical standards. In 2013 he was recognized as the "Public Relations Professional of the Year" by his colleagues in the Space Coast Chapter of the Florida Public Relations Association. He holds professional membership in the Florida Public Relations Association, where he served in several leadership roles, including membership on the state board of directors and Space Coast Chapter president.
Geo has also served as chairman of the Florida Coalition for Children’s statewide Communication Workgroup and – during his tenure with LEAD Brevard – chairman of the Space Coast Growth Management Coalition. He is a member of the Brevard Advisory Committee for Eckerd.
Geo resides in Melbourne, on Florida’s east central coast and considers the area called the Space Coast one of the greatest places in the world to live, work and play. Where else can you watch rockets launch while you’re walking on the beach?
